Ross Sutherland was a businessman in Honolulu with exceptional, fine taste for men's wear. In the 1940s, he opened His first store in Downtown Honolulu on Fort and Hotel streets. The store was known for quality merchandise, tailored suits, sport coats, and slacks.
Ross was a patron of the Aloha Shirt and would buy select Hawaiian and Oriental themed prints from the best Honolulu garment manufacturers. These shirts would be labeled by his store as an exclusive.
