Tropicana Sportswear was established in 1945 by the Donald Shigi family from Honolulu. They specialized in Hawaiian and Polynesian prints with a complete line of muumuus and island fashions. In 1960 they announced to the retail word that they were going to strengthen their position with men's merchandise.
