Musashiya

There were two separate Musashiya shirtmaking businesses in the 1930's: Musashiya Shoten Ltd. and Musashiya the Shirtmaker.

Musashiya the Shirtmaker sold shirts from his original King Street store and eventually started
a new shirt manufacturing business on King and Alakea Street in Honolulu. HIs former location on
North King Street went to the new owners and the name was changed to Musashiya Ltd.

Musashiya Ltd. sold fabrics, kimonos, happy coats, slippers, Japanese lacquer-ware, and their own shirts and pajamas.

Musashiya the Shirtmaker, was credited as being one of the first tailors to create the Aloha Shirt.
