Founded by William Mullen and Andrew Bluett in 1889, Mullen & Bluett was a high-end clothing store with a focus on menswear and also featured women's high-profit cosmetics, perfume, hosiery and handbags.
Their first store was located at the corner of First and Spring Streets in Los Angeles, California. In 1910 they relocated to the first two floors of the Story Building at Broadway and Sixth streets.
In 1947 they opened a 55,000 square foot store in the Miracle Mile district designed to serve customers in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Westwood and the rapidly expanding West Los Angeles neighborhoods.
