It is our belief that the label Hawaiiana was a label owned by Wah Cho Lock, the owner of the prestigious sportswear company Hale Hawaii. It was common for manufacturers to have various label names to use for different customers. This enabled each label name to have its own level of integrity in the competitive marketplace.
Hale Hawaii labels could be used for premier specialty accounts and labels like Hawaiiana could be chosen for secondary accounts or department stores.
