There was a series of dreamy paradise back panel prints that were called the “Master Painters” collection created by a California textile man named Harry Goldinger. His company, Harry Goldinger Textile Corp. figured out how to create the art and print these patterns to achieve a different exotic collection of Island themed shirts.
Harry recalled, “the back panel, collar, and pockets were made of a print that was combined with solid dyed fabric to “match” the ground. The ground of the print was separated from the dyed goods by a print area so the two never came in direct contact with each other, creating the illusion of a match. Tropical banana leaves frame a hula maiden lighting a large vibrant bon fire. All of the elements are painted to create an exotic South Pacific moment.
