An unusual design with a soft background of shades of gray and vibrantly shaded blue pine branches with pairs Japan’s scared cranes, the Tsuru. In the pine branches there are occasional small pine cones.
This shirt has a Kramer’s label, a Kamaaina company that was started by Sam Kramer in Downtown Honolulu in 1939.
Kramer’s did not make their own shirts, instead ordering shirts from various Honolulu shirt makers. He would private label his shirts and give each of the manufacturers his labels with the distinguished Hawaiian warrior wrapped in a red cape reserved for royalty. This exclusive arrangement with individual store labels was a common practice with retailers and manufacturers.
This looks like an older shirt from the 50’s or earlier that has had modern wooden buttons added to the shirt.
