Banana trees, common in Hawaii, are believed to have been brought to the islands by early Polynesian voyagers navigating great sailing canoes. This fantastically well-painted design features several long banana leaves and banana flowers in various stages with clusters of young banana’s. A large amount of empty ground space allows each of the vibrantly colored elements to pop off the lively yellow ground.
In Arabic, the word “banana” means finger and the little bananas do look like many green fingers on this shirt.
