Two old-style thatched huts were hand painted with visitors passing by the shop, reminiscent of Waikiki curio shops. Natural landscape images of island scenes compliment the well known images of Waikiki and Diamond Head.
Vignettes of island scenes were hand-painted by textile artists in Japan for companies such as Iolani in the mid 1950s. Often ads and postcards with landmark locations were sent to artists in Japan to create designs with Hawaii themes.
