Hale Hawaii 001

This vertical, one-way print features various species of Hawaiian tropical ginger, shell ginger, flame ginger, and torch ginger. Between the rows of carefully hand-painted ginger are white stripes that have been engineered to lay on the shirts front, balanced and perfect, adding another uncommon dimension to the shirt. A flame has been added to the red ginger, also referred to as “flame ginger” in the old days.

Hale Hawaii was sold in 1958 and one of Aloha Shirts greatest makers, Wah Cho Lock went on to become a Banker in Honolulu.
