This is the shirt made famous by the 1954 movie, From Here to Eternity where it was worn by Montgomery Clift in a death scene near the sand trap on the first hole at the Waialae Golf Course.
A stand of tall coconut trees frame a view of the ocean and a peaky mountain in the background. A similar scene to what Waikiki looked like in the late 1940’s. It is possible that the art was created from early photos of Waikiki by a mainland artist.
