Vertical stalks of thick sugar cane are uniquely balanced on each front shirt panel. On the right panel the design has been cut to lay in a one way, right side up mode while the left panel is cut so that the shorter cut cane stalk with tassel runs upside down. The design was well painted by hand, adding gentle shading to the stalks, giving them dimensionality and roundness. The leaves are also treated with integrity and each have a gracefulness and individual characteristic popping off the rich burgundy ground.
The sleeves are nicely balanced with the stalks placed and cut in the same spot in the print. Two chest front pockets are a nice added benefit, however both pockets are not quite matched adding subtle confusion around the pockets.
