Artvogue 003

A festive design, this California-based Artvogue shirt features scenes of Waikīkī and downtown Honolulu in the 1940s. In this collage of pre-statehood Honolulu, you can see the bronze statue of King Kamehameha, which stands in front of the Ali‘iolani Hale, home to the  Hawai‘i State Supreme Court, directly in front of ‘Iolani Palace; the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, known as the “Pink Palace of the Pacific,” which opened in 1927; and surfers enjoying the rolling waves at Canoes in Waikīkī. A girl strums an ‘ukulele against a coconut tree; a boy climbs one to retrieve the fruits. And tourists gaze upon the iconic Diamond Head, as a catamaran shoves off.
