Kuu-Ipo 001 Vintage Hawaiian Shirt

This vertical, one-way print features various species of Hawaiian tropical ginger, shell ginger, flame ginger, and torch ginger. Between the rows of carefully hand painted ginger are white stripes that have been engineered to lay symmetrically on the shirts front, balanced and perfect, adding an uncommon dimension to the shirt. A flame has been added to the Red Ginger, also referred to as “flame ginger” in the old days.

Kuuipo was a label owned by Wah Cho Lock whose parent company was Hale Hawaii. Kuuipo and Hale Hawaii shared the same prints which are cherished today by collectors.
